Our objective this year, is to develop and shape children's thinking skills by providing learning episodes in which children are exposed to real-life learning experiences, and which cater to their individual talents when solving problems and challenges.

Our year will commence with students participating in a unit of work titled 'Design, Create and Construct. Students will be immersed in daily newspapers as part of our strategic plan to develop their literacy and thinking skills. This unit will form part of our integrated studies, which will include science, studies of society, health and P.E. and mathematics.

Studies of international cultures and relationships will be the focus of study in Term 2.

Term 3 . The focus of study will be Australian Democracy and Government, with a heavy emphasis on the importance of the local community.

Our year will conclude with a study of Antarctica and its relationships with the rest of the world.
