TITANS VISIT PDF Print E-mail
The K Classes are currently undertaking a Unit of work on Healthy Living.

Two of the Jetstar Gold Coast Titan's NRL star players visited the K classes this week to give them an insight into what being healthy means to them and what they do to stay fit and healthy.

Read some of the children's reflections on the visit:

“On Wednesday 29 July two Titans players, Anthony Laffranchi and Mark Minichello came to visit the K class at Robina State School. They talked to us about eating well, playing well and staying well. Before playing, Anthony eats steak and pasta and Mark eats just pasta. They talked about eating healthy food and doing lots of sport and exercise. Anthony eats vegetables and salads and Mark drinks Powerade and eats salads.

Play well means to share and let people play with you. Also you can play what other people want to play and be kind. Stay well means to not stay inside and be sure to drink water and eat healthy food. It was a great day. It felt good to see the football players.”
Paris, 5/6K

“On Wednesday 29 July, Anthony Laffranchi and Mark Minichello from the Titans came to visit our class. They told us their team motto was “Eat well, Play well and Stay well”. Eat well was about being healthy and not eating a lot of the sometimes foods. Play well is about not being lazy and staying inside. You need to keep moving and be fit. It was very exciting.”

“On Wednesday 29 July, two Titans players, Anthony Laffranchi and Mark Minichello came to visit the K classes at Robina State School. They talked to us about eating well, playing well and staying well. They came and talked to us about healthy food and keeping fit. We watched a DVD about healthy food and drinking lots of water. Before the game, Mark eats a bowl of pasta, drinks 1 litre of water and some Powerade and eats an apple.

The Titans train 4 times a week to practise for the game. They train for about 2 hours and play on Friday, Monday or the weekend. It was really good because we got to get autographs and watch a DVD.”
Keenan, 5/6K

We would like to thank the Titans and particularly Anthony Laffranchi and Mark Minichello for being such great role models for our students.
