Welcome to 2009 Year 7 teachers Mary Fraser/Jo Irving, Susanne Murray, Peter Hoy welcome all students to Year 7 and are looking forward to an exciting and rewarding year ahead. Our objective this year, is to develop and shape children's thinking skills by providing learning episodes in which children are exposed to real-life learning experiences, and which cater to their individual talents when solving problems and challenges. Our year will commence with students participating in a unit of work titled 'Design, Create and Construct. Students will be immersed in daily newspapers as part of our strategic plan to develop their literacy and thinking skills. This unit will form part of our integrated studies, which will include science, studies of society, health and P.E. and mathematics. Term 3 . The focus of study will be Australian Democracy and Government, with a heavy emphasis on the importance of the local community. |
